Who dunnit.

 This week I was learning to make connections between what we read. 

I enjoyed solving the crime scene it felt like I was a real investigator.

I was learning about prayers.

I enjoyed telling people what prayer is.

I found it challenging to find the right pictures.

My lenten promise.

 I gave up smoothies smoothies because I love them so much and it is a good thing to give up things you really like.

I promised to pray every night. I chose to do this because I do not pray often. 

My almsgiving is doing my laundry. I chose to do this because it is good to help out once and a while.

Art/taking photos

 We were looking in the Rerenga Awa to take photos of the native plants. 

We did it on a cloudy day so we could get good lighting. We thought about how the light shone through the leaves. We also thought about what was in the background. We didn't want buildings or people in our photos.

It was hard to choose the right picture for the photo competition we are entering because I liked them all.

All About Me

My name is Jakob. I go to Saint Mary’s School in Gisborne. My family is a Canadian except for my dad. I have a mum and dad, 1 brother, 1 sister and a cat called Lily.

I am good at reading and writing. I like reading big chapter books that last me ages. My favourite author is J.K Rowling. I enjoy swimming. I have been to lots of swimming champs. I just went two the Junior Festival. My goal this year is to get better at math. 

I am looking forward to some more swimming champs this year.

I have won lots of medals and ribbons. The person that inspires me is Michael Phelps. I am looking forward to posting things on my blog.

The Year of the Ox.

This week I was learning how to summarise. We were reading about the Chinese New Year.

I enjoyed learning about the ox. It is the second zodiac animal on the Chinese zodiac signs.

It was challenging trying to find facts that I understood on the internet.
